After reading "Differences Between Real UO and Heritage" it states :
7. VvV Differences
Players do not start with 2,000 silver.
Forged Royal Pardons do not exist.

as the Differences meaning everything else is a Bug or not how UO is. Well UO.com states :

Clicking “Accept!” from the acceptance gump will enroll players in Vice vs Virtue. While enrolled in Vice vs Virtue players will be open to attack from other VvV players while in a non-consensual PvP facet.
All Vice vs Virtue players have [VvV] appended to the end of their name when in a non-consensual PvP facet.

Well the bug is
1. if you are in VVV you can get attacked even in Trammel.
"Trammel is a mirror of Felucca, UO's original map, except that non-consensual PvP is not allowed. It has also not been allowed in UO's subsequent facets. Facets whose rules do not allow for non-consensual PvP have come to be called "Trammel Rules Facets."

2. Also the Point valve is way off, You get a lot less and items cost more

That's the teller. Fel is the only consensual facet as you accept that going to Fel involves PVP. Tram/Malas/Ilsh/Tel are non-consensual as people there do not consent to PVP.

Have a flick through here for the discussion around heritage VvV. Maybe they need tweaking again now we have more VvV battles. I'm not sure as I wasn't here for the original discussion

VvV Changes

  • Vice Vs Virtue combat will be active on all facets.
  • Entering the region of an active VvV battle will flag any VvV as combat restricted (Heat Of Battle) which will prevent recalling / gating away.
  • Silver gained during a VvV battle, while uncontested (no opposing VvV players in the region) will reduce silver by 50%.
  • Non VvV players who flag VvV will now only remain flagged for 10 minutes (down from 30). Remember assisting or fighting VvV in any way will restart this timer.
  • If a Non VvV player flags VvV in one facet but then travels to another it will now clear them of being flagged for VvV.
    • Remember you can not travel when Heat of Battle if active.
  • Some VvV rewards have had their prices increased.
  • VvV equipment will now spawn as BRITTLE instead of Antique and have 150/150 durability.
    • Brittle does not make items decay quicker. Instead these items are = to Replica items obtained from champion spawns and simply just can not have Powder Of Fortification applied to them.
  • VvV mounts and Essence of Courage have been removed.
  • Players can now purchase VvV Ethereal Horses and Ostards for 15,000 silver.
    • These Ethereals come Blessed.
    • Can only be used while you are in VvV and are Owner restricted.
    • Provide a 5% PvM damage reduction bonus, while mounted.
We have a few more new rewards on the way and will continue to listen to player feedback in regards to these VvV changes.


I will make a separate thread on VvV differences to remove confusion in the future. This is not a bug and is intended on Heritage. Also if you notice the rewards are better (antique, not brittle) Ethy mounts, ect.

The VvV system on Heritage was tweaked at the request of members here. At one time, it was being "abused" for points and trammies were recalling out of the area before a fight could ensue. Thus creating trammies that were all wearing the faction stuff without ever having a fight. They were essentially safe outside of Felucca. So it was deemed that all facets are "consensual" for pvp.

You do not start with 2000 points, and the points system was adjusted for the contested and uncontested fights for a city.

After the new system went in place no one was in VvV. You had to opt back in, and only then could you put on your VvV items. All points were removed and you had to start over. So there were a lot less trammies wearing VvV items like Crimson cinctures and high end arties for trammel based events, because they knew that if they opted in, they could be attacked anywhere, at any time.
