So today I noticed something that could be an issue.
If someone is dead or alive and sitting in a town where the system is active with alters, they could essentially "farm" points while afk...
Is this considered afk farming of resources and how can it be prevented?

If they were alive and not qfk collecting points then died qnd went afk till their points were recieved (since if you leave before the points are given and dont come back in time you lose the points) then who cares.

If they were afk when they were killed then good. Fuck 'em I dont mind people afking shit so long as it's being broadcasted and I can go kill them lol it's only when it's in tram that I care tbh

Then again afking for anything is against rules UNLESS its shard loyalty apparently

But afk on an alter in a town uncontested, even tho its every few hours is till getting points, right?
I know its a long shot for anyone to live that long with current VvV players, and the players who find them and kill them get a buttload more points, so its not really an issue. I was more curious as to if its afk gathering resources?

Doing anything that has a return of something in game is basically against rules.. unless it's the shitty shard loyalty system.

Thus, if they are just afk in a faction town and not capturing alters they will receive no points to my knowledge.
In that case it's not breaking rules but if they are capturing afk that's breaking rules.

The real question is does staying in town afk give points? I assume not as the player literally could have been doing something in that town before it went VvV and then went afk and while they were afk it started and their guild name was then broadcasted into game chat by simply being afk in the city.

So I did some testing. Sitting in town (Alive) NOT on an alter gives 50 points uncontested.
In a sense, if no one comes and raids you, you can get 50 points hiding in a town somewhere alive.

Uncontested we know it gives 300 if you run to all alters.

Next...How many points do you get for sitting on 1 alter without running back and forth?

And, how many points do you get if you're in a town hiding and another guild shows up and takes alters.....

Hiding in a town with "other" guild taking alters you get zero points.

Other guild gets only 300 points for taking alters, with afk player in town hiding.

So essentially you can only obtain points AFK if you are in town and it goes uncontested, and its only 50....
If the town comes up every 3-4 hours and someone is hiding in town, uncontested you may get 150-300 points a day this way.
it can be construed as "AFK farming", but its not likely to be abused in any aspect where it can benefit anyone in a substantial amount.
But I guess Dan or Dexter can determine if its being abused when they spot check players....
