you can also force them to obtain it by hurting them a bit then waiting for them to use the skill to get the few points in it.

Hmm @Dexter could that be any healing pet? I wonder if they do that on UO?

If they do not have healing to start they probably shouldn't try to heal?

Healing is a special ability. They either have it or they don't.

Healing on certain creatures needs to be strategically put on the pets. The way to do it on OSI is to battle with these, [lions and sabertooths work the same way i think], until it heals itself, and then tame it. If you tame it before this it will not have healing. Unclear whether its a bug or intended on osi.
