Investigating Ter Mur T-Map location distribution

I've been doing a lot of t-maps in ter mur recently and I've noticed that the maps are usually in the same zone, with rare outliers on other areas of the map. Though this is super convenient when it comes to doing them quickly, I'm unsure if it is intended. I've attached the areas where I've had maps locations pointing.

I've done around 30ish maps in ter mur and they're all usually in the same zone around that little bend in the river. Most of the maps on the "mostly here" area are to the left of that river, but a good portion do show up on the right side. I've had about 3-4 maps in the "rarely" area, while only a single map in the "very rarely" area.

I thought I was getting lucky until yesterday, when I did 10-15 maps in a row (found more in the chest loot), and they were all in the "mostly" zone. Every single one, even the ones that came from the chests as extras.

Thanks I'll take a look at where these draw their spawn point data from over the weekend and get back to you.

I took a peek into the code since I had time and was wondering what could be the cause. Though I can't be sure since I don't have a copy of the shard running locally to test my theories, I think the issue might be with the validation of the treasure location and the fact that most of the regions in ter mur are marked as types that can't spawn chests and seem to be fairly extensive.
I couldn't be certain about this without actually mapping the region areas visually and see what valid locations would be left after removing all invalid tiles and such, but I would guess that the area where most maps spawn is the largest contiguous area not restricted by the regions where maps can point to, with the rarer maps being in next biggest contiguous areas of valid locations. There's probably smaller areas scattered around where maps can spawn, but since the sample size is so small they just haven't shown up yet.

I looked into these files to come up with this:
Ter Mur Locations - Just to cross reference with the region definitions
Regions - Ter mur region types are mostly (if not all) region types that can't have treasure chests from treasure maps
Treasure map item -Where the map location validation checks the region it landed on

You are close to the thinking here! Luckily it is a bit easier than dealing with the data files you came across.

^ spawn locations - so Fel/Tram wrap is basically the whole map.

^ these are the ones specifically to Ter Mur t-map location generation. We just need to create some new boxes and make sure we are not creating a bunch of inaccessible locations and we should be good to do!
