Not A Bug Raw fish steaks uncookable.

So like many others i've made a fishing character for the event luck robes.
With an abundance of fish & a desire for enchanted apples i decided to also make the character a cook.
Cut up some raw fish steaks & cooked them no problem.
Cut up some more and also cut up some of the named fish & the game combined them together. These raw fish steaks are uncookable. I get the message 'you do not have the required materials' or w/e that message is with hundreds of raw fish steaks in my pack.
I think the issue is that once combined, the game core no longer recognizes a raw fish steak AS a raw fish steak.

You cannot combine raw fish steaks with other types of fish steaks. If there is a way to do it that I'm missing, by all means, please explain and I'll fix it. These special type of fish steaks are not used for fish steaks, they are used to make fish pies.

Just using a butcher knife to the fish. The game doesn't separate the types of fish, it stacks them all together into one pile.
The exception for me so far has been the yellow barracuda fish, those it makes a separate stack labeled correctly. Everything else all gets stacked together.

What type of fish did you do this to? I've gone through a couple, and the different types of fish are not stacking.

Same, I reached out to him over Discord and will investigate this further, in-game.

This was an issue a year or so ago, but the stacking was fixed to match type, hue, etc.

Was catfish specifically the other day (and anything else that the game stacked into the pile)
After logging out & back in a day later, the stacks of fish now have cooked but the game is still sticking different types of named fish together in the non named pile. Is that "normal"?

So any "Regular" fish, regardless of graphic or type, will cut up into raw fish steaks to be cooked.

Special named fish when cut up go into their own pile. These are not cooked like other fish steaks and instead are ingredients for fish pies.

All the fish, (including named fish) that i fish up in vesper, all drop into 1 pile of raw fish steak. the "Trophy" fish do not, they retain the name of the fish (Yellowtail barracuda steak, ect). The only 2 Trophy fish i have caught in vesper are Blue Marlin and Yellow Tail Barracuda.

Hmm.. well.. The Blue Marlin Trophy fish cuts up into normal fish steaks..

Not all fish have a fish pie.

The "Yellow Tail Barracuda" is the only named fish that goes into it's own separate pile.
Pikes, walleyes, rainbow trout, catfish, & everything else dump into the same pile as the unnamed fish.
I am fishing in Vesper if that makes any difference.

Yes, all of those should go into un-named.

I do not believe there is a bug here just a misunderstanding, from what I have gathered thus far.

Something was def 'off' if i couldn't cook a pile of fish steaks one day & the next could.
