Not A Bug Pumpkin cannon and Blundercannon instantly were destroyed by a pirate ship.

I was using a Britannia ship, and my pumpkin cannon and blunder cannon, both were next to each other on the starboard side were instantly destroyed by a pirate today. I couldn't find anything about cannons being destroyed in such a manner. Neither of them were damaged, as they hadn't even fired yet, but I take one shot from the pirate ship and they disappear, along with all of the fuse cords, cannons and powder charges. (Fuse cords are a pain in the ass to make, and they aren't cheap either.)

Do normal cannons break?

I agree that reward ones probably shouldn't. I will need to do some testing on production though to confirm.

A similar issue has already been reported in the past.

All cannons can be destroyed. Reward ones too. Cannons take damage from use as well as being hit (need ingots to repair) I repair mine after approximately 30 rounds are fired. I don't find it beneficial to have 2 cannons next to one another though. I usually have one on starboard and one on port, and for pirates maybe one in the bow as well. Too costly to have too many cannons deployed IMO (instead I keep 1-2 deeds in the hold for replacement). Try attacking pirates in the stern to avoid cannon fire.
Perhaps reward cannons should have their hit points increased, but are only different in appearance from normal ones.

Yeah I repair them incessantly, as in like every 5 shots or less. None of my cannons have ever been moderately damaged, let alone two. Ever since a cannon mysteriously disappeared back when I was first doing beacons with Brosephine, I’ve taken no chances in regards to repairing cannons.

So although that they can take damage from enemy fire, getting one shot and losing two cannons right as I began combat definitely can’t be working as intended.

Honestly cannons should just have numerical hitpoints showing their durability, like normal items do. instead of being “slightly damaged” after firing once, to “moderately damaged” after so many uses. It isn’t very intuitive.
