would it be possible to make it so that aggressive tamed pets that are released inside guard areas or specifically inside luna walls stay passive

would stop people griefing people that are afk. There is no benefit to releasing an aggressive pet in a city other than to grief other players.

so their released aggressive pets should wander about docile till they despawn or someone tames them and removes them.

If you release an aggressive pet in a guard zone, in should take on the qualities of a vengeful spirit and follow the previous owner around attacking the owner until the owner kills it or dies, whichever comes first. Oh and the pet cannot be guardwhacked!

Part of what makes UO an unrivaled sandbox is its unpredictability and relative lack of safety nets. It feels more like RL than other games in that the actions of strangers can directly impact you, for better or worse.

Anything can be stopped. We can make all items blessed, all characters Blessed, everything blessed. However, with every safeguard added to UO since 1998, a little bit of that old charm dies. A charm, that for better or worse, keeps all of us coming back.

Lock your doors, don't talk to strangers, and NEVER follow them through their moongates, even if they promise candy on the other side.

Yeah, like in RL with the old lady in CVS fighting with the clerk over a 25 cent coupon and I'm just trying to get my medicine and get out of there.

and for the most part, I understand that. But the issue is that by definition Felucca is meant to be the free-for-all facet. Trammel and Malas are meant to be consensual interactions, I wasn't VVV, I wasn't guilded, and didn't want to PVP or fight in luna. but they can grief kill me in the social hub of the shard with no consequences. This isn't sour grapes, I am just as annoyed at myself for going AFK in Luna.

So maybe my suggestion will help stop other people from being unfairly targeted unless the guard zone can be extended to the outer walls.

Honestly, someone opened gate to luna near me.
I walked in and landed on someone boat full of "trinkets" laying on the deck.
Well i got some of them :D

Was this good / bad?
It was funny and unexpected by both of us.

There's the Guard Zone but that doesn't extent beyond the bank.
Even inside the GZ, if the NPC's are facing the other direction to your character & a pet nox's you/bleeds you, it may still do enough damage to kill your character if you are AFK.
A simple solution is to record a macro recalling to your UO house & bind it to a macro button. That way if you have to go AFK (even in a hurry) you hit 1 button & are at your own UO house instead of a vulnerable area.
