Fixing (Dan) Mysterious Fragments spawn ratio in treasure chests

So after rewiev publish 107 from official uo i found information about increasing number of frags in treasure chests.


Rewieving uoguide info about ratio said "Rough calculations after hundreds of chests estimate the spawn rate in a chest to be approximately 27%."
Also mention up to 8frags could be obtained from one chest.

Numbers are clear with 27%chance it supposed to be 1-8frags in every 4th chest (with good rng of)

On Heritage its 1frag from 30 chests i dug up in last 24h.

This should be fixed immediatly and increase rate and numbers or even 1frag in each chest due to our low number of active thunters whole Shrine Battle quest line is impossible to finish.

Simple said assuming actual drop rate and number of treausres required to dig it might take 12months before player obtain 24frags of same color.

I will take a look at the code and see about adjusting the odds. I am sure when it was coded by Argalep/Dexter at the time, that it was a "rough" estimate. Thanks for the information. Could I get a link to the UOGuide post you quoted, too?

Okay - so about a 27% chance. If we trigger the 27% chance (was 10% before), it will then spawn a random number of fragments from 1 to 8.

On osi it is right now flat 8 mysterious fragments in chests randomly colored but 1-8random is better than what we have now

But how do we know UP TO 8 can spawn? It just says the quantity was increased, so we can guess more than 1 in this case, and that we already know there are 8 random types that spawn.

Also I am honing in on this comment:
This turned up spawn rate and quantity by the development team was to appease those who felt there wasn't enough time to gather fragments with all of the other activities happening (holiday season).

The reason they did this was that this was a limited-time event on production UO that can no longer be completed and had to be completed in a short period of time. Here, people have forever to do it. Should we really increase the rate that much to allow people to just plow through the content?

I do think the drop rate should be raised, but maybe not as drastically as they did to start. These are some questions that I think are good questions that we should be asking.

For NOW this is what I am going to do and we can address it more in the future after we gather a little more feedback. Keeping in mind that there is no time limit and some things should take a little time, here is the change that will get pushed with the next patch.

Jolly Roger is still possible to complete on osi

For clarity.
This part was about Jolly Roger Event (for fellowship medallion-right now medallion can be bought from black market with cargos)

But the fragments are for obtaining the tabard, no? The complaint seemed to be about getting a tabard in time, needing those fragments, is how I read it.

That was before they decided to implement medallion for tabard quest to black market npc. Publish 107 gave them jolly Roger quest to finish for medallion.
Shrine battles are active still.

I dig some chests, fish som MIBs, keep up a vendor, but my play time is slowly dimishing.
I think I even took discord off my phone.
Fire, you have access to some of my chests, if you want to do those mysterious frags, I think you can aceess them.
