all bait does is give an extra roll for that type of fish. It's still not even close to gurantee.
[restating that Im 120 fishing and I also went back and tried again this time with the bait suit on giving 50% bait effectiveness and still the same results!]
If you read my post I state that with Holy Mackerel bait at Gravewater lake I catch zombie fish every single cast.
If what you say is true:
m_FishInfos.Add(new FishInfo(2551, typeof(ZombieFish), 1116101, "Gravewater Lake", false, LegendaryChance, 115.1)); //Confirmed
m_FishInfos.Add(new FishInfo(2959, typeof(HolyMackerel), 1116087, "Gravewater Lake", false, RareChance, 102.9)); //Confirmed
yet the script suggests that Zombie fish is legendary chance and requires 115.1 skill, while Mackerel is only rare chance at 102.9 skill
so why do i get Zombie on every single try and with the wrong bait.
and again:
m_FishInfos.Add(new FishInfo(1157, typeof(BullFish), 1116095, "Labyrinth", false, RareChance, 105.4)); //Confirmed
I dont get anything but regular types when going for Bullfish but it too is below the requirements of Zombie Fish
To fully appreciate this system you need to do it. Sail from port to port getting random orders for random fish in random amounts.
Shallow, deep, dungeon and/or crustaceous. For a
chance at a random bait (of which there are many) and then there is supposedly a chance to get a fish that amounts to 4 steaks that with the correct items and skill you can create a 5 minute buff.
Perhaps this needs more testing, however, it is really time consuming and resource heavy(bait) to test this. How do we proceed. Also considering how there is only a handful of people that fish on heritage. If this is accurate most small shards could never produce this resource. Also I get alot of the books as rewards how frustrating and the fishing pole rewards as I mentioned before are all but useless. Factor all this together you get a lousy system that would never play well on small servers. [Fish Pie Buffs]
If you also look at how much complaints people have made over the chances to get good Doom artys, this is so much harder. The time I spent fishing if I spent half of those hours at Doom, Blackthorn, basically anywhere else I would have so much more to show for my efforts. There is also no demand for mounted fish, the only good part of this system is SOS fishing which only requires GM fishing and comes from 1997. High Seas tries to improve fishing. I don't see it...
