Commodity Dealers and Deeds

I would like to suggest the following changes:

  • Make the commission of 5% only charge against transactions instead of weekly on-hand inventory value
  • Expand the accepted inventory to any stackable item
  • Allow any stackable item to be commodity deeded

Why?
  • NPC's no longer sell ingots, leather. This allows players to set this up better.
  • Our low population means that weekly fees make these cost prohibitive (like the fee increase on npc vendors...)
  • This change could make magincia one of the go-to spots for shopping for things.
  • 5% transaction fees on buying and selling allows Dan to double tax commodities (since we cant make VAT claims in UO :))

I support changing the fees on commodity dealers to be on transactions instead of weekly fees based on inventory and pricing.

Yeah, I will be looking at these closely in the next few months.

Would like to simplify the whole process as they could be utilized much more.

Reviving this to suggest having the commodity dealers in magincia be searchable with the vendor search. I'm not sure on how it would be implemented, but perhaps showing them as a commodity deed (since that's what you get from them once you buy an item) with either a price per 1k items, or a price per unit from the dealer, or a price for the max allowed sale set in the dealer. For example, if a dealer has 100k boards in its inventory, the sale max is set at 30k (the limit), and the price per unit is 10 gold per board, then the vendor search would show:
  • If its price per 1k items then it would show the price for a commodity deed of 1k boards with a total price of 10k gold
  • If its price per unit then it would show the price for a commodity deed of 1 board in the with a total price of 10 gold
  • If its price per max sale permitted, then since the dealer only allows transactions of max of 30k boards per deed, it would show a commodity deed with 30k boards and a price of 300k gold

This would not be easy to accomplish.
