It doesn't sound like its working though? If a reserve of 1mil prevents people from bidding, why not bid 10mil and no one can ever win? It sounds like it will stay at the starting bid until someone beats the reserve.....which can be gamed?

Scenario:
Molokai sets starting bid at 2gold
Mr Riots bids 3 gold with a reserve of 10mil
Everyone else gets "you have been outbid" but the bid stays at 3 gold
Mr Riots wins for 3 gold
Am I missing something?

It is because I canceled the auction myself until we figure it out.

with this being the case , most probably will not bid on auctions and it would not be a good idea for an owner of the safe to use it.

scenario 1:

• own starts auction at 1 gold
• bider comes up and bids 5 mill
• (auction safe updates to 2 gold)
• bidder 2 comes along ... "ooo ... 2 gold , i better bid"
• bidder 2 bids 1000 gold , gets message " grrr"
• bidder 2 bids 5000 gold , gets message " grrr "
• bidder 2 bids 1mill , gets message " grrr"
• bidder 2 , F~ this , gives up
• auction safe still says current bid 2 gold

If i was you , i would not spend too much time on it , most people will just sell items with a vendor.


If it worked right on the first few auctions , not sure what was different with last one .

Yeah, it is not working as intended in that regard. It should allow the person to bid, or at-least we can give it a message to say with the high is.

Yes - if someone reserves 10 mil on a 1gold min bid, and bids 2, the bid should raise as other players bid. I go in and bid 10k, the reserve should bump it to 10k+1.

Right now the reserve isn' matching competing bids - its just saying NO, you cannot bid unless you beat my reserve. The reserve should deplete as competing bids climb to beat it.

I don't think we need to go on EA to make this work. Bidding systems aren't new.

Edit: I also find it really interesting that it recently stopped working like this.

Yeah but I just think no one noticed.

If you bid 2gp but put your own reserve of 1 million GP, if it won't keep track as you bid, to auto-bid from your reserve, maybe for now we can just make a custom message that says - a player currently has X amount put up to keep bidding. As it stands right now it just "appears" broken to anyone using it.

I will work on getting a safe to test.
