FIXED Foundation stairs are really messed up

1632804585099.png

First, when purchasing east or west stairs the deed you receive is for the opposite direction from what the picture indicates. In the above screen shot I had to select EAST facing stairs to get a WEST facing stair deed. But when I placed the WEST facing deed, I got somewhat weird looking EAST facing stairs instead as show on the west side of my grassy house plot above. (I put two stairs in that spot to make it more noticeable) Thanks for your help and time spent reading this.

Thanks, so all stair east/west types do this, or is it only the newer styles?

Not asking you to test since I know they cost money just curious if anyone else has found it true for all types or only the newer styles?

Alright, I'll play with it and see what I can come up with.

In the mean time if anyone can replicate on the TC, please feel free to share any info you find.

I tried Shadowguard, Grey Stone and Granite and those all work fine.

BUT.....

1--When you customize a house, it will remove ALL of your stair add-ons and put them into a moving crate. This will NOT occur when changing the foundation; I think it only happens when you actually go into full house editing mode.

2--If there is a slope in the land near where the stairs are placed they can sink into the ground which makes them look wonky because you can see grass peeking through the north stairs and worse, you CANNOT walk onto the foundation or off of it using those stairs. Idk if it's possible, but perhaps the stairs can be made to match the height of the house they're attached to instead of the terrain and make it player Z-axis is automatically adjusted to the top of the stairs when stepping on an exterior stair tile?

Thanks for all of your help with this Dan!

This small addon is a custom and is in no way tied into the actual housing system. Because of that limitation, this is not something that will/ can be changed at this time.

It should be possible to force the stairs to adjust to the Z of the house vs the Z of the terrain. I will look into that as well.

The original issue has been fixed.

@Xan Swiftwind has been awarded 10 Sovereigns.

In regards to this - Dexter had the original idea correct when he coded this to be based on terrain vs house. If it was based on the house there are quite a few situations in which people could then fall "below" that tile and get stuck. There will be no other changes made at this time.
