How do I make steps on the sides and backs of houses?

I have seen others like that but does not look like you do it through the house customization menu. What is the trick?

You buy them from a npc, think there is one in Britain in the same shop as the architect.at least I think that’s where you get them

Look for the Stair master or something like that. He's inside the Britain Carpenters shop, Trammel side.
