You don't lose any insured or blessed items. They will scatter in your backpack though after you die which is annoying.

I could have swore that blessed items had to be in your main pack, and not in a container, to work

spellbooks and quest items have to be in main pack and I would imagine the Gem of Salvation as well, otherwise as Magus mentioned.
