It would be too long and the chest would probably disappear before anyone found it. Maybe something smaller with a better chance of it being found before being removed by the server. Plus without checks, how that work? Not trying to be negative, glad you are trying to promote playing.

You could leave a note, make it unique as proof, to contact you.
No need to transport gold but still get the "cheque"
