I remember a thread a few months back about this, but do not recall the outcome. I was t-hunting with two characters, both with empty ethereal soulbinders in their bags. I did 3 maps, a supply, cache and a trove, with several mobs labeled "soulbound" but neither of my binders will fill when killed. Using a cu to kill off the spawn. One mob i killed with magery, incase the pet kill does not count in filling the soulbinder, but the binders are still empty.
