FIXED SOS Coordinates

I spent time in the past organizing my SOS by coordinates so I could fish up many with one ship deployment. It seems they all have changed Coordinates for some reason, and therefor no longer are organized. Only decoded Tmaps are suppose to change coordinates after 30 days not SOS. This is to counteract the chance a Treasure map coordinate is under a house, and doesn't apply to the Ocean obviously. You can actually fish right through the bottom of your boat so SOS locations can always be targeted.

Decoding a Treasure Map

You have your map, what next? You need to decode it. Double click the map, if your cartography skill is high enough you will be able to read it, though it may take more than one attempt. An unread map has the description ‘tattered’, when read this label is lost and the map becomes ‘blessed’. The location on a map which has been read is valid for 30 days, after that the map will return to ‘tattered’ status and re-set with a new location (handy if the first location turns out to be under someone’s house and so unobtainable).

Alright, I pushed a fix to remove the mechanics of forcing a reset every 30 days.

However, it seems it was only added recently.
I am not sure why @Argalep would have added it in unless he had done testing and confirmed it on production. It could have been a recent change. I had been unable to find anything saying they should reset but until I have a moment to test this myself I am not going to push the recent changes but should it be 100% confirmed it will be ready to go.

If anyone here who plays production has any insight, I would appreciate it.

My prodo SOS never changed their coordinates after pulling them from the MIB. On production, I have always had them organized into 10 regions and kept them in 10 different containers. I container per region. I have always been able to log in, and go to a container and the SOS were always in that same region. They never reset.

Treasure Maps were changed because some were were popping up where a house would be on it and you could not dig it up. To fix that, they enabled maps to reset if not touched for 30 days. That way, you could go back 30 days later and it would be in a new location.

Thanks bud.

@RedBeard I will push this to Heritage in the next few days. Keep on the lookout for a publish note. Unfortunately, I won't be able to re-set the ones that already changed but after the patch they won't change again.
