FIXED pet retames

so i had pet go wild and i retamed him and i lost all my stats and skills, they all suffered a fresh tame, just made my good pet completely useless

That is scary, since re-taming your pet is used to fix other issues, like when your pet jumps a slot incorrectly.

yup just had a pet go totally useless because of it, sucks to lose all my scrolls i used on it and all my skills and stats its garbage canned at this point, holding out hope it will be allowed to have stats adjusted back but who knows

At the very least your scrolls back. If that happened after I dropped a Chiv 120 I would loose it.

Though the loss of all that time training it should be returned someway as well.

We'd have to see how real UO handles it. Scroll wise that is. This will take time to investigate.

OBS is very easy to setup for recording things.

yea but ive had to set it up about 11 times now lmao everytime i put something new into my computer i reset everything for quality assurance

this is really odd, after i retamed this pet and stabled it after sometime of doing other things i came back and he was gone, i let one of my fire steeds go wild and i tamed and stabled it, ill report back whether or not it vanishes as well

@Dan im not worried about Skill loss I literally had lost power scrolls i put a 115 chiv and focus into the pet and it had 102.7 wrestling on tame and it knocked the max wrestle to 100 and the focus and chiv down to 103.7, like it wiped the use of a powerscroll on retame, they should lose skill on retame thats always been a thing but losing max skill is not what they should do, once a skill has been increased in max skill or the first tame, it should never lose that it should always be able to work back up to that, and im assuming then your in agreement that it shouldnt lose any of its stats?

Nothing "vanishes" when a pet goes wild. Maybe when you retame it, ill have to take a look.

@Dexter as to why my pet vanished once i put him in the stable is beyond me, i have no idea what happened to him, and i tried several ways to replicate with no success so just throw that part out, if i figure why hes gone ill post something seperate

So the alleged bug is the normal taming penalties being reapplied after you tame again, after your let go wild. First question, I think Dan asked this, how does this behave on EA?

pets do not get any form of a debuff from retame

i need to test the skill loss on paralyze tame ect.. - i believe they removed it because it caused the slot drop exploit - will test in a bit

yes as Ni'kard has said pets recieve no debuff from retame EXCEPT they do lose a bit of skill but not the max skill just like the base skill they start with.

@Johan I know that for a time retaming over and over on ea made pets lose skills repeatedly until they were >1.0 - this caused an exploit that made pets 3 slot pets drop to 1 slot, which could then be retrained with insane stats - I believe they removed it.

@Ni'kard correct that was an issue but i know thats not possible here

Just like to point out that you should be able to retame a pet to fix an issue where it jumps a control spot, to lower it back down one. This would be different from whatever exploit Ni'kard mentioned.

You can see in threads such as this that if the pet just straight up resets to ground zero that option would not be viable as a solution.
