Not A Bug Just lost over 1000 bods - Carpentry ate my bod box

So, after the new patch, I stored all my BOD books on my crafter in a small wooden box made by him. I started working on my carpentry bods. While combining a small box bod, the bod ATE my box full of 1000's of bods that I was working on....OMFG. I puked in my mouth a bit....

So...maybe the bod system, for container bods, needs to check if there is anything IN the container before accepting it (kinda like trying to stable a pack with items in it...)

I should have added, I was able to reproduce this. I had a small crate carp bod, put some stuff in it, and it combined in the bod eating anything in it.

So unfortunately we wont be able to replace 1000 BODs as there is no way for us to track what they were or how many there are.

That being said I will go on Test Center and test trying to combine a Carpentry BOD with a container that has an item in it. If it is indeed a bug you will get a better sum of Sovereigns, than the normal 1 or 5, for this report as it could cause issues down the road.

I had 258 large tailor bods, 252 assorted sinker bods, 264 Large BS bods, 200+scribe and alchemy each (half to sort, half to fill), and 100+ carp (the other 100 was NOT in the box as I was working on them...so I still have those). The issue is that most of them were reset, so that is a huge investment of materials not to mention the time to collect the bods.

o_O.. confused.. So you had all your bods in a small crate? and you filled a small crate bod, and clicked the small crate with your bods in it? and it consumed the container AND the items in it? just want to be sure of what happened, so i dont loose mine.

I usually just "combine all in container" clicked my backpack....yeah. Wasn't really thinking about where my bods were stored and that they were in the same container.

So I needed 10 small boxes for the bod, made them (so, had 11 including the one holding my bod books). And when I combined the ones in my backpack (to save clicking), it took the one with my bods stored in it. POOF

All BODs do is simply delete the item they are being filled with and add a number count. The item does not physically go inside the bulk order.

What we need to test is if UO blocks a container with items in it or not.

I went on TC, made a carpenter, set him to 100, happened to get lucky on my 2nd character and got a bulk order for a container, made said container, put a blessed runebook in it, targeted the container with the bulk order, and the bulk order ate the container and the item.

This is being marked as Not A Bug.

That being said I can look at the code and see how difficult it would be to place a check in. No promises but I see no harm in looking at it down the road.

This is only possible due to the bod book change - the change is worth this price...ill just be more careful.

I disagree as any item can be eaten this way on real UO. Your item just happend to be BOD books.
