Giant Beetles in Solen Hive are spawning at 3 slots base with 100 requirement for taming. I killed 20+ of them in an attempt to find a single normal one and could not. Less than a week ago I went to tame beetles for some friends and left with 3, meaning at least one had spawned (since there are two normally) and I was able to tame that third one with my at the time less than 100 taming, so this must be fairly new. I've read that the number of slots a pet is before taming is based on their stats, but all beetles share the same stats aside from resists and I had yet to see different slot animals require different amounts of taming.
One of the pages I checked online to be sure my memory was not wrong about their control slots (despite the above, me having 3 controlled at once recently) did say they took 3:

And this is possibly related; I began killing cu sidhes in the Twisted Weald recently in an attempt to spawn rare colored ones. Once I began, every sidhe I saw was a 4 slot and 108 taming req, while the norm is 3 slot and 101.1 req. I killed about a dozen and if I go there now I still only see 108s. I forced a nightmare to respawn as well to see if they would be different too but the newly spawned one appeared to be normal.
