Not A Bug Enhancing in Masonry menu

Hi there,

I was trying to enhance a gargish stone amulet with valorite and i get this message "you cannot enhance this type of item with the properties of the selected special material"

Is this a bug? You can craft coloured stone armor but it does not seem right you can't enhance items. If you need any more info or testing let me know.

Hi, I need to enhance gargish necklace and earings with gold to give it more luck. Whenever I try through tinkering menu it tells me "You cannot...

Thankfully it seems someone else has run into this.

Items made via tinkering are not enhance-able.

My only concern is then gargoyles are at a disadvantage.

Stone armor is done through carpentry and the masonry skill, items made through carpentry can be enhanced for the other classes. Any other class can enhance after imbuing for their neck slot. Not sure why gargs are any different where they are already at a disadvantage compared to elves or humans in terms of damage reduction and so on

I would argue that the additional resistances potentially available on gargish would make these suits better than a normal 6 slot suit. On most 6 slot suits, you need 6 imbue's (1 per slot) to make resistances to 70's. Last few gargish suits I made I didn't need to imbue any slot for resist and was able to get all 70's (since jewels have AR as well). Gargish headslot is replaced by an earring slot, so you can compare how many mod slots you end up with after getting all 70 resists:

Gargish = 5 x 5 = 25
Non-Garg = 6 x 4=24

So in theory, gargish gets an additional mod after achieving max resists (since you, again, you dont need to imbue resists most times).

Any race can wear jewels so I left them out since they weren't relevant.

The thing is then, why does the system allow to craft in special material with the added resists and not enhance them? You can enhance all other stone armor, not sure how this is different.

If you had a suit bang on crafted it's still RNG? That does not mean you need to nerf the gargoyles?

The thing to remember is that anything made from tinkering can be made with valorite (or any colour) but CANNOT be enhanced. The 4 "core" gargish pieces are enhanceable.

I have made many valorite jewels, set with gems, rubies or w/e for shits and giggles, since it doesn't impart any additional bonus.

All distributions of resists are RNG - so you need to keep making a piece until you get the correct distribution of resists that you are aiming for. This is true for all armour crafting. The trick for garg, since you get over 60 (!!) resists per piece, is to just aim for an even spread.
