The artificer quests Knowledge of the Soulforge and Secrets of the Soulforge in Royal City appear to not progress at all for me. Even though I unravel items while the quests are active, the Totals of the items obtained remain zero.
What I did:
- Accept the imbuing quests Knowledge of the Soulforge and Secrets of the Soulforge near the public soulforge in Royal City
- Unravel magic items (collected by an alt) individually or a whole container at a time (neither seems to work) at the Royal City soulforge to obtain Magical Residue or Enchanted Essence (fetching them from your bank doesn't seem to work either, though I can't find confirmation of whether it's even supposed to)
- View the quests from your paperdoll to see that the Total counts of Magic Residue and Enchanted Essence remain zero
Observed behavior:
- The Total counts of Magic Residue and Enchanted Essence don't increase even if you obtain them by unraveling
- Even after unraveling over 50 Magic Residue and Enchanted Essence while the quests are active, the quest givers say that you need to keep using the soulforge. The quests don't complete.
Expected result:
- The Total amount of Magic Residue and Enchanted Essence obtained according to the quests increases as you obtain them
- The quests complete once you have obtained 50 Magic Residue or Enchanted Essence ( https://uo.com/wiki/ultima-online-wiki/gameplay/quests/the-artificer-quests/ )
The quests themselves say that you need to stand next to the soulforge and unravel items, so I would expect that I'm trying to do the right thing. I don't know if it matters, but my character is already at 99.5 Imbuing, and this is the first time I try out these quests. I have well over a 1000 of both of the ingredients in my bank box too.
