FIXED Cannons Disappearing?

First, some context... I use carronades on my Britannian ship.

Last night, I was doing some plunderbeacons with Melek and Xtal. All of my carronades were in "Pristine" condition. We got the first plunderbeacon down, and I repaired the cannon. On the second plunderbeacon, however, even starting with a pristine cannon, it disappeared within up to 6 shots. Cannons on ships are notoriously buggy, sometimes floating out over the water or having wonky placement on the boat, so I thought maybe it had jumped out somewhere I couldn't see it while in transit. After several frustrating minutes of searching and trying to figure out what happened, we concluded that it must have been destroyed.

In my experience, a cannon could fire all 14 times at a plunderbeacon, and by the time it was down would be "Moderately Damaged" to "Heavily Damaged" at the WORST. We got to the point last night where I was repairing the cannon we were using after almost every shot, just to be safe. I lost 3 cannons last night before we started repairing obsessively. I'm really not sure if cannon durability has changed? Maybe it's random now? Can you lose a cannon at any time, regardless of repair state?

We also had another minor issue where the characters on the boat were all set to "CREW" access, but not everyone could SEE the contents of the cannon to be able to fire it. Some saw 3/3 items with visible powder charges, fuse cords, and cannonballs present and accounted for, others saw nothing, with 0/3 items and a seemingly empty cannon. This happened with the same cannon that disappeared after a few shots.

It seems like there's at least one bug here involving cannons, but I don't know enough to put my finger on exactly what. Looking for input!

You sure plunderbeacons crew not shot into your cannon?

That's another thing I guess I'm not sure of. My SHIP got hit occasionally by the plunderbeacons and took damage if I accidentally got too close. I didn't think that damage from plunderbeacons could also affect cannons though. Regardless, my cannons in this instance disappeared after all of the orcs were down and the plunderbeacon was no longer firing.

Are you possibly suggesting this scenario? I repaired the cannon after defeating one plunderbeacon, then maybe that same cannon took direct damage from a second plunderbeacon before the orcs were down. We started firing with that same cannon without realizing it was already damaged, after which it was damaged beyond repair and thus disappeared. ...?

Are you saying that the cannons themselves can take direct damage from plunderbeacons, not just the ship? I always just thought it was the SHIP that took direct damage when hit by plunderbeacons. I didn't think the cannons on said ship could be affected other than by us firing (meaning you could potentially have a heavily damaged ship equipped with pristine cannons).

Can someone weigh in on that?

Yeah, I am not sure if cannons would get "Destroyed".

I think of the rare pumpkin reward cannon, no one would use it if it could be deleted.

Uo.com mentions how cannons take damage from firing them:
NOTE: After each shot your cannon will take damage. Repair with ingots at the end of the battle, or when pausing for ship repairs. To do this access the context menu of the cannon by single clicking it. You may also dismantle cannons and unload through this menu. A ‘slightly damaged’ carronade will require approximately 36 ingots to repair.

Some posts discussing damage to cannons from use and attack:

Yes the cannons get destroyed. Sadly, the first one I lost was the pumpkin reward one.
This goes for Blundercannons as well. I can't say whether Blundercannons have more durability
or not. [Perhaps a custom Heritage Reward/Event Item 'more durable cannon' will emerge ;) ]

UO.Cah explains the Highs Seas combat quite well; they also mention how the cannons can be destroyed:

[RedBeards Tips] I park my ship off screen and take a rowboat to kill the Orcs. Then I get my ship into position and sink the PlunderBeacon, this keeps me from taking unnecessary damage to my ship/cannons. For pirates you need to ram them in the stern to avoid their cannon fire.

This issue was resolved with the various updates pushed to galleons and the brit ship, for another bug regarding plotted courses.

Please let me know if it happens again.
