When equipping the Bestial set, for whatever reason based on the last piece you equip the total resists will be different. For instance (all resists shown have vamp embrace on, so -25 fire resist):
When the helmet is equipped last:
When the gorget is equipped last:
When the legs are equipped last:
So as for the second bug:
When you go into a berserk rage, it removes Vampiric Embrace from you, but causes you to keep the vamp embrace hue. You can see this happening in the following collage of pictures (note the journal, and the buff/debuff tray):
