FIXED 40 Minax Artifacts disappeared

-Had 40 minax artifacts
- Went to turn in some more
- Minax points got set to zero
-Dan told me to eat rocks on my week of collecting them

Unfortunately there was an issue a few days ago where we had to revert all point systems by a few days. This was due to an issue with VvV saving points while it crashed.

The issue has been resolved and new safe guards are in place to prevent it from happening again in the future.

There is no way for staff to see where individual points went and as such no way to replace them.

They could have been redeemed for items, lost due to the revert, or never existed to begin with. There is also no way to confirm exact numbers.

In these types of situations I am unable and will not replace items, skills, ect, due to reverts.

do you not keep back up saves? i also noticed losing like 50k cub points i dont see why u cant go back and look at the saves from that time

if he really farmed 40 minax items i feel for him those things are retarded hard to get

The points are saved as a "Persistance", these update in real time as you continue to contribute to the system. In this case they continued to save corrupted and then wiped everything after an actual restart, back to 0. This behavior has been fixed.

I do a "hard save" once every 7 days. That is when I take an actual clone of everything and zip it, then move it to the cloud.

Heritage and all servuo/runuo shards save the last 3 saves automatically. Each save wipes the oldest one so at saves set to once every hour the most the backups go is 3 hours.

At the end of the day the options were either set all points to 0 for everyone, revert that specific file, to minimize damage(which we did), or revert the entire world a few days back.

After he said that I went to check my CUB points, around 30k missing. 2 Years in and no population. Something tells me that it has something to do with HOURS AND HOURS of people's hard work disappearing might have something to do with it. I put in 11 days here and get told that my hard work being replaced is considered a handout. We are not talking about one point being lost in a 15 minute revert. [Which did happen to me 2 or 3 times, of which I complained ZERO times.] We are talking about me losing EVERYTHING I have been doing for my entire time on this server. I didn't ask for a handout, Im asking for what I worked for to not be ERASED for no reason. It sucks that happened, its also not MY fault.

Let me give you a real life analogy of whats happened here.
-I put my entire life savings in Dan's bank. Dan promises me it will be safe and I will have great returns!
-One of Dan's employees sets all of my money on fire
-Dan tells me, "that sucks, well go make some more money, and this time we won't set it on fire"

Minax items take really long to get too due to slow respawn. I dont even think there's a point system associated with it (no point system associated with getting an individual one to drop)

They turn into "points" when you turn in the minors. The minors in item form were not removed. In point form they were reverted back a few days due to a corrupt save.

The Minax artifacts averaged around 45 minutes each to get, [ I was keeping track via looted gold/bank stops,]
If I maintained that average with the amount I play, it will take me 7-8 days to recover my loss, time which I am not willing to put in to a server that might just erase my shit. [Oh, none of that is including the multiple reverts, probably add another day in for that.]

Anyway, really stupid way to lose a player dan. Ill be looking for another server where they don't just erase all my shit and not care.

It was not done on purpose and I've already stated there is no way for me to confirm the number or if they were actually redeemed for rewards or lost due to the revert. Just like real UO these reverts can and do sometimes happen. In very limited circumstances I can track and recover an item, this is not one of those times as they were in a numbers form.

Dan, would you want to play here if you lost 40 hours of progress toward the only thing you wanted? A percentage might be more relevant since you have been here for 2 years. If you lost 81% of the time you put in here, would you want to continue?

It would suck and I am not saying it doesn't. I have lost things in games before. Some games I left and some I stayed.

I am saying that there is no way for me to verify how many you had, if they were deleted, or if they were redeemed.

Due to the nature of this, and all reverts, the items can not be replaced.

I suspect you clear players progress towards high end items regularly to keep your sovereigns valuable.

The nature of this is that you did not have the systems in place, when you know your server is riddled with bugs and crashes. YOUR responsibility to your players is not being upheld.

Then wouldn't it make more sense to delete gold? Since everything that is bought with sovereigns can be payed for with gold too?

Heritage and UO are hobbies. This is not my job, it does not pay my bills or feed my family. The staff here does not work for you in any capacity. I run this server because I enjoy UO and I want to see it survive for another 20+ years.
