Tracking Skill Changes
  • Tracking Overhaul Part 1:
    • Tracking is now region-based. What this means is if in the overland maps of Trammel or Felucca you could potentially be tracked anywhere. (there are many locations on OSI where this is possible too. Please see this post - https://trueuo.com/threads/tracking-skill-is-all-wrong.3297/#post-18511)
    • Targets are currently limited to the 12 closest in the category you choose.
    • Players will now be notified when they are being tracked.
    • If tracking in a dungeon and a player leaves that region the arrow will point you to their last known location instead of simply removing itself.
    • Using a disguise kit will now make you appear on the NPC list as their "new name".
    • These changes make tracking a viable skill in both attempting to track down hard-to-find monsters or even hunting down a PVP scout.
This is only the first update to the tracking skill. I want illicit feedback. I understand the PVP implications here on both sides.

Some planned changes include:
  • Limit the number of targets based on skill. IE - up until 50 skill can only detect one or two targets at a time while increasing the total number of targets, up to 12, the closer we get to 100 skill points.
  • Making it slightly harder to detect players that are inside a champion spawn region.
  • Any good suggestions or issues that arise from the current implementation. - Please provide any feedback you may have here - https://trueuo.com/threads/tracking-skill-is-all-wrong.3297/#post-18633
All of the new tracking changes are public and the new formulas can be reviewed here:

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a server crash that could occur if a player got two claim list menus open at the same time.
  • It is no longer possible to use Jewelry Boxes from afar.

Armor Changes
  • Properties.png
  • Armor with "Inherent Stamina Loss Reduction" will now have this property displayed as Stamina Loss Reduction.
  • Armor with "Inherent Lower Mana Cost" will now have this property displayed.
    • Some players may not have realized that many different armor types provide, previously hidden, bonuses.
    • Please note - this has always existed as a mechanic in the background. It will now be easier to identify since it will display on each item piece.
    • It does not add to any property counts or weight/intensity calculations used in any other system (IE- crafting/loot).

Stamina Loss

Player’s stamina loss is influenced by the type of armor as well as the amount of armor that is equipped. Each piece of armor up to five pieces will reduce the amount of stamina lost when taking damage. The armor pieces which provide the most stamina loss reduction will take priority.
  • Cloth armor, leather armor (leaf, tiger pelt, dragon turtle hide) and jewelry will give the same stamina loss reduction as Pub 80.
  • Blacksmith armor (platemail, ringmail, chainmail, and dragon armor) will provide a heavy bonus to stamina loss reduction.
  • Studded armor, hide armor (not dragon turlte hide), stone armor, bone armor, woodland armor, will provide a light bonus to stamina loss reduction.

Lower Mana Cost

Each piece of non medable armor provides lower mana cost with the exception of woodland armor, shields, and pieces with the Mage Armor property. Each piece of armor up to five pieces provides a percentage which can exceed the lower mana cost cap of 40. If a suit has 40 lower mana cost already, then 55 lower mana cost can be achieved when wearing 5 x 3% pieces. The armor pieces which provide the most lower mana cost will take priority.
  • Platemail, ringmail, chainmail, and dragon armor provides 1% of lower mana cost per piece.
  • Studded leather, hide armor (not dragon turtle hide), stone armor and bone armor provides 3% of lower mana cost per piece.

As we continue to look at ways to enhance, add, and overwise simplify content some systems will get removed from time to time to make way for new content or ideas. One of those systems is Armor Refinements. Underutilized, on Heritage, in 4 years only a few item sets were made with them, it is getting replaced by a crafting system built into the crafting menu to allow the upgrading of some older artifacts using a mix of ingredients, skill points, and time. Usually, these upgrades will come with a decrease in a property and the stacking of the two became confusing.
  • If you had armor refinements on items in use, I put a save aside from July 15th and will double-check, on a case by case basis, if you reach out to me on these forums or Discord. Those with time put into suit pieces will have the pieces replaced by Sovereigns.
  • Armor Refinement Components can be collected or trashed for cleanup points. The ItemIDs will be reused in future systems.
  • Armor Refinement Items can be collected or trashed for cleanup points. The ItemIDs will be reused in future systems.
  • Refinement Amalgamators can be collected or trashed for 10,000 cleanup points (their original claim cost from that system).

Other Changes
  • All Lanterns now inherently come with the spell channeling property. Any existing lantern has had this property applied.
  • Bags of Sending now display re-charges left or if they have been completely saturated.
  • There is now a 10-second delay between uses of the Housing Accessor or Guild ranking stone.

Bug Fixes
  • Resolved various "hour 1 issues" with Tracking. There were a few situations in which players/NPCs were not being tracked correctly.
  • The Tracking/Quest arrow is now much more accurate, especially in locations where the maps Zs are all over the place.

Tracking Changes
  • Resolved a crash regarding the Tracking skill. Thanks @adverserath
  • Total number of tracking targets is now based on skill and is capped at 20 targets(at 100 skill), was 12. The lower the skill the less possible targets now.
    • Math =
      Code:
      int totalTargets = (int) (m.Skills[SkillName.Tracking].Value / 5.0); // 20 targets at 100 skill.
  • Resolved an issue where players could always detect and track any monster. Chance is supposed to be based on the creature's fame.

Tracking Changes
  • Players within a champion spawn region engaging* in the spawn can no longer be detected.
    • *engaging - once a player has a collective spawn damage total > 1,000 they can no longer be detected until that spawn is completed.
  • The hue of monsters, animals, and humans will appear in the Tracking menu. Paragon stalking anyone?
  • Monster tracking is now offset by the Trackers fame. (experimental feature)
  • Tracking now has a max tile distance based on skill.*
    • The exact formula may still need some tweaking.
There are still a few bugs that will need to be worked out. A lot of the issues require multiple people using the skill at the same time to fully test, thus the deployment to Heritage. Once everything is worked out I will compile a master list and make notes on exactly how the Tracking skill works now.

Bug Fixes
  • It is no longer possible to recall into the Abyss under the Abyss house signs.
  • Runic Reforging of mage weapons has been corrected to match production.
    • any runic reforged mage weapons below -15 (-5,-10) have been set to -15.
  • Lanterns should no longer unequip when using the Meditation skill.
  • Tracking should no longer remove the A in front of players' names, if applicable.
