Today a player in game had a question about why he could not put anything in his backack and for some reason it was saying his item count was full for some reason. He later learned that it was because he had a Bulk of Order deed Book inside his backpack and it had x amount of BODs in it.

Even though he has a BOD book in his backpack BODs still hold a certain amount of item count and after you have 500 BOD's in you book you are left with 20 or so item spots left in your overall capacity in your backpack.

This is one of the worst things to deal with if you are someone who likes to craft... if you craft and do BODs for gold and gain on a major level this is one of those things that really gets annoying if you are trying to organize everything neatly and keep everything clean.. most people will often use bags instead of books hold these BODs as they organize because not only can you not carry all your Books in your backpack while organizing BODs because they require too much space in the backpack you cannot pull from or drop BODs into the BOD book unless they are in your backpack..

I think and there has been a few to agree with me that either one or both of these things should be changed.. I believe you should be able to carry as many BOD books as you like and that they should only have the capacity of maybe 5-10 on the overall capacity in your backpack and that you should be able to secure a BOD Book on the floor of your house or in a container and be able to open it, pull BODs out of it, put BODs in it by simply dragging and dropping etc.

This is one of those annoyances in my opinion that would make crafters happier on Heritage and help the market of BOD rewards. Hell I think its a pretty good selling point for players who like to full time craft if they come here and are used to doing this the other way...

Feel free to post your thoughts and opinions as well as vote in the Poll!
Dan, I would encourage you if you have not done much crafting to go on a private server as a player and give yourself a few 500 max books and try to organize your books in a house based on leathers or kind of BODs and you will soon see that you are having to pick up and set down books using shit loads of actions to do what could simply be a drag and drop..

Thanks.

I am in complete agreement here Goober. While the item management in this game in general is my main source of pointless activities, BOD books easily take this annoyance to a new level. The fact that you need a decent collection of BOD pieces to fit the large BOD puzzle means the game forces you to have lots, but makes it absolutely annoying since you have so little capacity to manage this collection. If this could be changed to be more manageable, I would probably start doing them again. I stopped when sorting bods just became too much to handle (even with well written scripts!).

At the VERY least, if item limits are not easy to change, being able to drop bods out of a book that are secured in a house would be a huge improvement.

On an aside - bod BRIBING almost fixed this issue. ALMOST. But since the "upgrades" are random, you still end up with too many bods.

I agree with everything said above and voted for the 4th option: BOD Books should not take so much carry capacity + Also should be accessible anywhere. I was storing my BOD books on VENDORS and pulling them into my pack one at a time to add BODs. Super annoying. If I could just lock the books down in my house, or keep them in a chest, or even be able to carry them myself without maxing out my item limit, it would be so much better!!! Please consider this change, Dan. It would be a vast improvement!

Alright so I had a look at the code.

The good news: It was very easy to re-code it to count the internal items (the items inside the book) as 0. What this essentially means is a Bulk Order Book with 500 bulk orders in it would only count as one item inside your backpack or in regards to housing / bank storage.

The bad news: It will not be an easy edit to allow these to be drag and drop when locked down in a house, it would take a whole re-write. Unfortunately that is not a change I can entertain at this time.

I saw a few mentions of the Power Scroll Book but these two systems are in no way alike. For one you can only add items to a Power Scroll Book IF it is locked down in a house. (this prevents them being used at champion spawns to quickly store those rare and valuable scrolls)

Well, maybe an outside source can do the editing on the books?
Does this mean you are going to entertain the idea of doing the count as 0? Will this be added in to the live Server?

Yes, sometime this weekend I have a fairly large publish to apply. During that time I will adjust BOD books to only count as 1 item, even when full.

They will still need to be in your backpack to use though.
