Being Reviewed Battle Wargs

I am having a hard time fitting any of these into my arsenal.

For tanking I'd take a naja, uni, or greater dragon
For elemental base damage/resist I would take the elemental drakes
For an all purpose pet I would use a cu cidhe

So unless the reason for these are pure esthetic or for the very niche mountable element pet, I cant see a use.

My suggestion:
Have them spawn with a random ability, magical, move or effect pre-trained or a certain set of predetermined abilites, that way you have to hunt for one that starts with a specific skill you want and would be able to tame/train them for a broader purpose.

I would love to see them be more useful. They are an awesome looking pet, and they do some cool things, but Jester said it well; there is a different pet that does every role better than the warg. As it is now, I use my cu for most everything even though I would prefer my warg...

Just trained my Fire warg and psst, they have a sacret AoE attack :). So it is like Cu without healing but with small aoe attack.

BTW a lot of ppl voted for them so ask them why

I would take a Naja or a Su Cidhe over a Battle Warg any day of the Week, at least how the Warg is now. I was not on the server when the voting was going on. As Jester said,
"My suggestion:

or at least make the Naja ridable, (but only for males) lol. I only can see the Warg's as a status quo. just my 2 cents

I noticed an AOE Damage, but did not see it do very much damage. I am sure this helps it as an attacker role, but would you still use it in place of any of your other pets?

As for asking, it was a poll, not sure if i can see who voted, and i seen that the suggestion was for it to be a clone of a Cu, but I cant see me using one over a Cu, except in rare occasions when I need another elemental type over the healing or if i was human and really did not want to use the boots.

Well, I didnt voted for them bc I "also" dont need another Cu-Like beast. As they are now, I see wargs as "hard to train-fit" AoE cus with specific dmg type. 3>5 is too few point to make great pet. I am now od 4/5 and added just 1 special (AI I think) to help me kill paragons while I train him. I am scared I will not be able to fit magic and finish its build.
For AoE tank I like bushido (WW and, if tokuno pet, great defensive spells). For 1v1 pet I love AI/Chiv builds. For AoE DPS I love FW builds and there is problem, MAGIC ability is everywhere (500 points :-( )

So what pets I use?
For Magic/Necro heavy Aoe I love my Naja> got AI/FW/Poison build and with 160RS it is awesome beast, yet cant be mounted. My Naja can clean Stygian Dragon Lair Entrance Mini-Champ nearly on her own (if I lure max 3 dragons at a time). But with my DPS and few healing it is nearly "Leeeeroy Jenkins" action.
For 1v1 DPS/tank I use my Cu (AI/Chiv). He is tanky and dont need much healing + chiv is best 1v1 dps magic you can fit on your pet. (or disco/rune corruption if someone else is also dmging)
For AoE/physical tanking I love my L. Hiryu. AI and Bushido (WW).
For 1v1 phys dmg while I dont have to tank I have Giant Beetle ready. AI, Rune Corruption and poison. Its mainly for support (RC) and boost DMG of group. + that giant backpack.
For AoE/Fire fights with - lure everything on yourself meatshield I use my Fire Beetle - Goo, RC, poison. Goo and poison is for aggroing everything and to kill fleeing su....rs. RC to help me kill though things. I use him on champion spawns.

If I need to deal specific dmg? Najasaurus (50phy/50poison), Cu(50Cold/50energy), Hiryu and beetle (100 phy), Fire Beetle (100 fire). SO this is my base group to take out and kill things. Next level is to cooperate with guild or party taking specific builds. I sold my 100% dragons bcs I never used them.

I will try to build warg for AoE fights like my firebeetle is, but I am afraid he will not fit all I need on him.

I agree, the only thing I will add is if you are looking at the resist side of the pets, the fire beetle has 100% fire so makes the fire warg obsolete, the naja has 100% poison, though cant be mounted it starts at a 2 slot so a ton more room to spec it.

I like the idea of new pets and if the point was/is just for esthetics cool leave them be, but if they are meant to be used for something, then they should be adjusted somehow.

What about 2>5 wargs like dragons are?
That could help, I would need to look it over but 1500 points would help alot.. and since cu's natively get healing and bleed attack, I dont see this making wargs overpowered.

I still like the random ability as it gives a bit of a farming to them, but I think -1 slot would greatly help.

There are not enough points to increase skills.

My opinion about this pet: a very strong combat pet paired with a master wizard for a walk is a pleasure. This is my favorite pet. There is nothing better than dimetrozavr. Another 1000 points will certainly benefit him. Not enough points to increase skills.

Sorry did not notice that he wrote in his native language)

If it was scaled down one training slot would it then be the ONLY pet people used?

I dont know if it would be the ONLY pet, but I do believe it would be used a lot more.

Well that is where we need to find the balance.

I seriously doubt it, I like my poison immune pets, a cu will still be a more survivable pet as they have healing.. for an attacker I would still take a beetle for RC, so it would become a pet I would consider taking to a champ spawn since it has the native aoe, if I could match the elements and being able to mount.

I have a hard time outside of a niche scenario that someone would want a mountable cu with less survivability and slightly better AOE or for aesthetics, that they would ever be the go to pet.

I am ok with goobers suggestion as well, just remove them, I dont see anyone using them since the hype died down.

While yer at it, lets delete dragons, they are a useless pet now.. Oh.. and Greater dragons.. no need now that we have Frost Dragons.. OH! wait.. I have a pre-patched Dime! Just delete all pets.. cuse he is super leet! -OC Logic

I think they are a decent DPS pet.. good addition to my stable of tamers. As I said before, I think they are great as they are, BUT I wouldn't shake a stick at lowering their controls by 1.. My Dime Tanks, I have a frost mite & my warg.. did quite well this valentines day! ;)
